Koh Mook (Koh Muk) is a friendly little island in the southern Thailand.
There are very few cars on the island because it’s not really worth it to bring a car to this island. It’s to small, you can rent a scooter on one side of the island and go to the other side in about 15 minutes.
But Koh Mook still has it’s charm. There are a few local restaurants and a couple of bars.
Also many of the hotels are placed close to the beach and you can sit there and watch the sea, which sometimes might be nicer looking then some people in bars if you ask me.
People are very friendly, and easy going. And of course, everybody knows everybody.
I don’t recommend people to come here to party or find new people to hang out with. There just isn’t that many people here.. Yet.
But the beaches are really nice, and people working here are really nice.
So if you want to relax I would recommend it for sure. Maybe take your loved one for some alone time.
Emerald cave
Another thing that is nice in Koh Mook is the Emerald cave.
This is a beach that can only be accessed thru a cave from the sea. You will have to swim for about 5 minutes into this cave to get thru to the other side.
Fantastic view when you get out.
But if you don’t want to go with 20 other tourists you should go early in the morning, around 7-8 am.
You can get a one day trip with a long tail boat and go to the emeral cave and visit some coral refs close by, they might even take you to Ko Kradan, the closest island. It´s even smaller then Koh Mook, but very nice also.
