My personality

I did a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test, I’m what they call ESTJ.
This letters is based on what Carl G. Jung’s theory of psychological types.

There are two choices to each letter, the first one is Extraverted (E) vs. Introverted (I), the second one is Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N),
and the third one is Thinking (T) vs. Feeling (F) and the last one is Judging (J) vs. Perceiving (P).

This sums up to 16 personality types.

So based on this, I’m Extraverted that is Sensing, Thinking and Judging.

I did the test on 16personalities.com, but I’m not sure how accurate this is.
I would for example not call my self Extraverted. But I did it twice.

Good order is the foundation of all things.

Edmund Burke
Well, that sounds like something I would say.
According to my personality, it say’s I’m:
  • Dedicated
  • Strong-willed
  • Direct and Honest
  • Loyal, Patient and Reliable
  • Enjoy Creating Order
  • Excellent Organizers

and my not so good qualities are:

  • Inflexible and Stubborn
  • Uncomfortable with Unconventional Situations
  • Judgmental
  • Too Focused on Social Status
  • Difficult to Relax
  • Difficulty Expressing Emotion

I would not say that I’m too focused on Social status.
Of course, I wanna live a good life, but to focus??.
I’m not sure about that one.

ESTJ RELATIONSHIPS

This one feels spot on how I feel about relationships.
ESTJ people never go thru a dating period and then relationship period and then marriage. We are honest and straightforward about what we want from day one, and often stick to them.

There are certainly challenges, but ESTJs take their relationships seriously and are willing to put a tremendous amount of effort into ensuring that they remain strong and committed, and that effort pays off.

That doesn’t mean we are the boring we-have-been-married-for-50-years relationship person from day one, we give well-placed compliments and are looking for emotional intimacy.
We are not so much for verbal statements of love, but as I always say; “words don’t matter, actions do”.

The problems with an ESTJ in a relationship is that we tend to be honest, which sometimes will hurt our loved ones.
They recommend a fellow S partner.

ESTJ FRIENDS

This one seems to fit me pretty good too.
ESTJ people are traditional friends who appreciate loyalty and shared values.
We don’t like to have anything to do, and like to take friends on sporty or outdoor events and might sometime push for participation.
ESTJ’s look for long-term friends and we might not the center of a party but we try hard to make our friends have a good time.

We look for someone who can give us an alternate viewpoint and can argue for it.
We are stubborn and need someone that can open us for alternatives from what we already know.

ESTJ CAREERS

For an ESTJ to make the best of their careers they need to work somewhere they can have the opportunity to exercise our affinity for organization, structure, and follow-through.

We are loyal and it makes us often go for well-respected organizations. For example law enforcement, military, legal firms etc.

We dislike disorganization, laziness and especially dishonesty and when we meet these people we don’t hesitate to show it.

ESTJ people are hard working but we like a well-organized workplace, honesty, and down-to-earth colleagues.

CONCLUSION

ESTJ people are practical, strong-willed, reliability and hard working.
We make a secure and stable environment for us and our loved ones.
We are stubborn, perfectionists that do things our way and have a good imagination.
A ESTJ person needs someone that can argue against their viewpoints and might have a different world view than us, and want to share that worldview with us.
